In the towering, vertical city of Overture, magic is generated through sound, and the tyrannical ruling class—the Cacophony—enforces their iron will using weaponized, dissonant chords. Corin is a Hushweaver, a despised outcast born with the rare, forbidden ability to manipulate absolute silence. When a heist goes wrong, Corin accidentally steals the First Pitch, an ancient tuning fork containing the world’s original, pure note. Hunted by the Cacophony and allied with a defecting elite duelist named Aria, Corin must ascend the deadly tiers of the city to stop the Maestro from playing the Dirge of Ruin—a song designed to shatter the world’s foundation and rebuild it in his own twisted image.
